With just one week left in the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #1, I want to take a minute to thank all of you for contributing and encouraging me in so many ways over the last few weeks. It has really meant a lot, and it's getting me excited for my next campaign!
And a big thank you to all of our new backers!
The campaign is so close to $3,000, and I'd really love to hit that goal. So I’ve decided to hold another giveaway. If we hit $3,000, I’ll randomly select a backer to win a digital $50 Powell’s Books gift card! So if you know of anyone who would want to be entered to win, be sure to share the campaign with them before it ends on November 3.
I also wanted to let you know about another campaign that I’m excited about. It’s Sacrimony #1-5, by Matta Sorcier with flats by Nicky Rodriguez. It’s a fantasy drama about love, life, and death. Here's a little more about it:
Khajad was dead. But now she's alive again! So what's the catch? Because with every mysterious resurrection story, there's always a catch. She has no memory of her past, no explanation as to why she has magical powers, or why she must hide her newfound peculiar white demon wings from society. Her mother, Yunika, thinks it's best to avoid answering any of Khajad's questions. For now, they must figure out how to survive in the big city of Aldenkirk and find a means of living a normal life. But can their lives ever really be "normal?"
Contribute to Sacrimony here.
That's all I've got for now! Thank you so much for all of your support! I can't wait to share the comic with you!
Best, Sarah

Wow, these last few weeks have flown by! Can you believe we just have 8 days left in the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #1? If you know of anyone who might be interested in contributing, now is the right time to start bugging them about it ;)
The campaign is just $171 away from hitting the $3,000 mark, and I'd really love to reach that goal!
In the meantime, I wanted to let you know about another exciting campaign to check out. It's Fangs & Foul Play #0-2, written by L. K. Ingino, illustrated by Alex Guenther, colored by Mariam Yasser, lettered by Joel Rodriguez, and edited by Chuck Pineau. Here's a little more about it:
A telepathic, vampiric cat, Fang, in a Victorian town, just wants to eat! Meanwhile, a conflicted ex-colonel just wants to do the right thing. What happens when he becomes enthralled with Fang?
Pretty much any comic starring a cat gets an A in my book. And I mean, a telepathic vampire cat? What more can you want, right!?

Well, that's it from me for now. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement!

Exciting news! No Spell Lasts Forever #1 now has 101 backers! And now that we've passed 100, we've reached our next stretch goal, which is a digital copy of Hexes #1, the supernatural horror comic written by Simon Birks, with art by Ege Avci and letters by Lyndon White! Everyone who pledges or has pledged $5 or more will get it.
A GIANT thank you to all of you. Watching the support for the comic continue to roll in over the last few weeks has been so encouraging for me!
And thank you to our new backers, who helped put us over the 100 mark!
I also want to take a minute to shout out Concrete Arcanum. It's the 120-page urban fantasy anthology that Sara Setna and I have a story in. Our story is called Olive and the Ogre, and it's about a young girl living in the big city who doesn't feel like she fits in anywhere -- or with anyone -- until an ogre unexpectedly crosses her path and they become fast friends.
The campaign ends on Friday and we're about two-thirds funded. The anthology includes stories from 35 creators, and they all have really interesting and unique takes on urban fantasy. I've really enjoyed being a part of a project of this size, and I'd so love for it to become a reality.
In addition to the physical book, there are some exciting digital rewards, too. Like a compendium of additional art from creators featured in the anthology.
To help us reach our goal, you can support the campaign here.
And take a look at this gorgeous page of Sara's from our story:
Thank you so much for your contributions, signal boosts, and kind words. It all means so much to me!

I hope you're all having a great weekend! No Spell Lasts Forever #1 is now at 99 backers, which means we're just ONE backer away from unlocking the next stretch goal! When we hit 100, everyone who pledges or has pledged $5 or more will get a digital copy of Hexes #1, the supernatural horror comic written by Simon Birks, with art by Ege Avci and letters by Lyndon White. So if you have a minute to share the campaign, that would be awesome!
In the meantime, as we wait for that one more backer to roll in, I want to let you know about another exciting campaign! It's Lost Boy: How a Peeter Became the Pan and a Hand Became a Hook. It's a Peter Pan origin story, which is a premise that I personally think is amazing. I really love it when we get the chance to take a deeper dive into the inner workings of a character we already know and connect with deeply.
The comic is written by Bunnie A.D., which stands for Bunny and Dad. It was first conceived as a bedtime story that, like most fairy tales, grew wings. While Dad (Don Hanfield) is known for creating comics like Unikorn, The Source and The Mall, or producing film and television shows like The Founder and Knightfall, Bunnie is the real creative genius behind Lost Boy. Dad just helped with the boring stuff. The artwork is by Diana Naneva a.k.a. Functional Neighbour, and letters are by Dave Lanphear. Here's a little more about it:
Tomathan survives as a 'Peeter' -- a thief who steals bags off moving carriages. When Tomathan and his crew of orphaned 'lost boys' pilfer a bag from the royal doctor and find a real live fairy inside -- Tomathan refuses to give the creature back to the cruel man -- making him the target of every Thief-Taker and soldier in London. Can Tomathan and his crew of street rats outsmart the corrupt Thief-Taker and evade the King's soldiers long enough to escape to the Neverland?

Well, that's all from me for now. Thank you so, so much for your continued support and encouragement! It means a lot to me!

Greg Capullo Video + Can we get 4 more backers?

Ok, you remember the giveaway I hosted recently where I randomly chose a backer to win a Cameo video from Greg Capullo when the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #1 hit 70 backers? Well, the winner was Abel Cervantes, and his video just arrived today! I really enjoyed watching it. Greg brings a lot of energy to the video (despite saying he's tired, haha). Take a look (and keep scrolling, there's more good stuff after the video)!
I also wanted to mention that we're only FOUR backers away from unlocking our next stretch goal! When we hit 100 backers, we'll unlock the new stretch goal, which is a digital copy of Hexes #1, the 28-page supernatural horror comic written by Simon Birks, with art by Ege Avci and letters by Lyndon White. Everyone who pledges or has pledged $5 or more will get it. Right now we're at 96 backers, so if you have the chance to share the campaign with anyone you think might be interested, it might just be enough to help us hit that goal!
And I thought I'd let you know about a couple of other campaigns going on right now that I'm excited about. The first is The Cthulu Man #1, written by Ben Lacy, with pencils and inks by J.C. Grande, colors by Anton Polkhovskyi, and letters by Nikki Powers. Here's a little more about it:
Brilliant but unhinged scientist and neurosurgeon Dr. Brook Douglas has gotten rich selling cybernetic monsters to criminal syndicates, and she co-created the Shark of War. Now she's going to the next level - human experimentation. Luckily for her (and no one else), her allies in the Mob are more than happy to hand over their enemies for her to do her worst.
Will Dr. Douglas reap what she's sowed? And will the greatest horror ever seen be unleashed on the world? Find out in this Lovecraftian Horror meets action-packed Sci-Fi comic book.
This is a one and done 28 interior page spinoff from Shark of War, but don't worry, you don't have to have read Shark of War, but if you want to, every backer will get a digital copy of Shark of War #1 which will give you all the background on Dr. Douglas you'll need. You can even read it right now - CLICK HERE TO READ Shark of War 1 FREE.
Support The Cthulu Man here.
Next, I wanted to mention Dungeons and Dimwits, written by James Mascia, with art by Kodaris. It's a funny, quirky tribute to some of the writer's own gaming experiences. As James explains it:
The idea for Dungeons & Dimwits came about by a group of us making jokes while playing some tabletop games. We started telling stories about some of the weird stuff players (and game masters) have done, and then I started visualizing what that might look like in the world of the game. What resulted was a book of comics.

Well, that's all I've got for now. Thank you again for all of your support! You all rock!!
Best, Sarah
