The campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #1 is chugging right along! We're still working toward that paper stock upgrade when we hit $2,000. So if you know anyone who's into comics, urban fantasy, or noir it would be great if you could let them know about it!
I wanted to share a couple of other exciting campaigns with you, too. The first is Bullet Adventures. It’s written by Randy Stone and Jordan Alsaqa, with art by Lara Kane and letters by Lucas Gattoni. It’s a new chapter in its speedy hero's life as Dale DeSousa, on the eve of his death, has an encounter with an acquaintance from the future and takes a journey to his past. This book really celebrates the pure fun of comics that so many of us love so much. If you want to grab a copy of this comic, the campaign ends on October 15, so now’s the time to make your move! You can find it here.
Next, I wanted to let you know about Alpha Dogs. It's written by Jon Dexter, with art by Fernando Melek, colors by Lucas Orueta, and letters by Lucas Urrutia. The comic stars Buck, a dog with the power to heal from most any wound, along with heightened intelligence and strength. Although feared by the public due to his breed and size, Buck is on a quest to stop a murderous dog from hurting humans, all while he is being hunted by Black Rock, a cabal of mercenaries determined to duplicate Buck's abilities. Issue #3 is live on Kickstarter here.
Well, that's it from me for now! Thank you again for all your support. You've all really just been showering the comic with love, and it means a lot!
Best, Sarah

Wow, the support just keeps rolling in and the campaign forNo Spell Lasts Forever #1 has now crossed the $1,700 mark! I'm really humbled by all the interest in the comic. To be honest, I get a little teary-eyed thinking about how much encouragement you've all given me during this campaign.
And on that note, a HUGE thank you to everyone who backed it today!
We're working toward our next stretch goal, which is a paper stock upgrade when we hit $2,000. I'd love to reach that goal because the quality of the paper can really make a difference in the overall feel of the book. So if you have a minute to share the campaign with anyone in your life you think might be interested, it would be much appreciated!
If you haven't seen it yet in my previous emails, I also wanted to let you know about Concrete Arcanum. It's an urban fantasy anthology that Sara Setna and I have a story in called Olive and the Ogre. It's about a young girl who feels like an outsider until an ogre unexpectedly crosses her path and they become fast friends. Concrete Arcanum is a 120-page book with stories by 35 creators, and they're all so different and awesome in their own unique ways. I've really loved being a part of this book and I can't wait to see it become a reality. The campaign for it is a little over halfway funded with about two weeks to go. You can contribute to it here.
And here's a sample of Sara's art from Olive:
I've got another project that I want to tell you about, too, and *gasp* I have nothing to do with this one! It's called Gage and the Dragon’s Tear, and it's written by Patrick Kellner, with art by Donny Hadiwidjaja and Ichsan Ansori, and letters by Ed Dukeshire. It’s a medieval fantasy that follows Gage, a renowned thief and assassin, on his quest to get his hands on the Dragon’s Tear, a gem with mystical powers. If you’re into high fantasy and compelling antiheroes, you’ll want to check it out!
The campaign for Issue #4 is live on Kickstarter here.
Thank you again so much for backing the campaign, and for supporting me in so many ways. It's really moving, and it's getting me even more excited for all the future projects I've got up my sleeve!

Exciting giveaway!
As No Spell Lasts Forever #1 moves ever closer to the next stretch goal -- a paper stock upgrade when we hit $,2000 -- I wanted to let you know about a giveaway I'm holding this week!
Right now, the campaign is at 64 backers. If we can get that to 70 by the end of the day on Sunday, October 16, I'll randomly select a backer to win a Cameo video from legendary artist Greg Capullo! Check him out on Cameo here.
All of his work is amazing, from everything he did with Scott Snyder on Batman to his more recent work on We Have Demons. He's just ridiculously talented. I mean, his work on Dark Nights: Death Metal alone is so iconic!
So if you want a shot at winning a Cameo video from him, share the campaign with anyone in your life who's into comics, urban fantasy, or stories with compelling women lead characters. Let's drive this backer count up!
And I want to take the opportunity to say thank you again for all of your support. I was pretty nervous before the campaign launched, but seeing this outpouring of encouragement and interest in the comic means so much!
Best, Sarah

Another day and we're a little closer to our next stretch goal!
When we hit $2,000, we'll be able to do a paper stock upgrade. I'm pretty excited about it because it really does enhance the quality and overall feel of the book.
Also, a few days ago I sent out the livestream for my appearance on Explain Yourself, with host Will Allred. But if you weren't able to tune in live, not to worry! You can check out the recording here.
I had a great time chatting about the comic with a group of really talented creators! And Will is the writer of Diary of Night #1, which everyone who pledges (or has already pledged) will get a digital copy of since we surpassed 30 backers. So it was fun to catch up with him again!
If you have the chance to share the campaign with anyone you think might be interested in it, that would be awesome!
Okay, I think that's all for now. The campaign just keeps rolling on...paper stock upgrade here we come, baby!

Stretch goal achieved!

Woohoo, No Spell Lasts Forever #1 hit the $1,500 mark today, which means we've achieved our first stretch goal, commissioning designs for merch!
I mean, can you imagine Aimee Hawley's gorgeous character designs on t-shirts, posters, stickers, and other good stuff?
I'd also like to use Elena Ominetti's variant art for some merch. And in fact, I ordered a sample tee for myself with her line art. A shirt like this could be yours in the not-too-distant future!
Our next stretch goal comes at the $2,000 mark and it's a paper stock upgrade. We're planning to print the comic on standard, uncoated paper but we'd love to upgrade either to a more deluxe uncoated stock or glossy. We'll do this if we hit $2,000. It may not be as flashy as the cool merch, but it really makes a difference in the feel of the book.
Thank you so much to everyone who pledged today and helped the campaign reach this goal. It really means the world to me!
Here are today's backers!
Again a HUGE thank you to everyone for your interest in the comic! I can't wait for you all to read it!
